The restaurant is located outside of the tourist area, which is not a bad thing, easy to reach and has private parking in the back. Interior is quite eclectic, If one wants to stereotype it does have a very earth mother vibe. I was happy to be there. Counter and table service and friendly staff.
I was very happy to sit by this window, the sun was hitting it just right, and created a rainbow effect in the room.
I have no experience with vegan/ raw food so was hesitant or perhaps intimidated ordering, I started with the Guacamole, Hummus, Salsa trio with dehydrated blue corn chips. Everything on the plate was perfect, and the good news all preservative free.
For the main, Creamy White Truffle Pesto pasta; Zucchini pasta, tossed with Alfredo pesto, onions, sundried tomatoes, red peppers finished with pine nut Parmigiana and side spring mix salad. I had no idea what to expect but when the dish arrived, there was no doubt in my mind how good it was going to be. It’s difficult to see this dish and think raw food, that is so tasty and healthy.
I was so sated from both these dishes, I could eat no more. Paid my bill and left. No the story does not end there. I went back the next day for lunch as well. I was craving more.
This was a lucky move, both chefs were in residence that day, Chef Craig and Chef Jed took time out of their busy schedule to share with me the vision for the new fall menu that will be announced soon. Not only are they dedicated to providing food that is good for the body but also satisfies the soul. It’s easy to recognize true passion when talking with them and seeing the food they serve. They did ask if I would be interested in sampling some of the items not yet on the menu. This is what I had.
Each of these samples, were amazing, and not what I expected. Even most dedicated carnivore would be impressed. I did order a menu dish, The Taco of Life, made with a combination of pine nuts, walnut paste, with fresh salsa, and Mexican “cheese” and guacamole in two romaine shells topped with cashew sour cream and jalapeno vinaigrette.
In conclusion, there is no doubt that I will make the trip to eat at this establishment again. The energy of Craig and Jeb won me over and I will be eagerly awaiting the notice about the new menu items being ready for purchase.
So if your in the area, put any misconceptions aside about vegan/raw food and treat your self to some amazing dishes, created by two amazing chefs.
