So this was a perfect weekend getaway in Saint Augustine.  It was art walk Friday, Christmas festivities, parade, cannons,  just think fun, except for the weather.  As always I was there for the food.  My friend and chef Jedediah Pearson is in residence at Cellar 6 and I was there for his food. The back story on Jed, I would see his pictures on Instagram  Gourmetfoodpics  and was mesmerized by the beauty of his food. So I reached out to see if he was local, well St Augustine is local enough for me.  I have dined on his food several time now and will soon make groupie status.  Now at the kitchen at Cellar 6 a local hot spot Jed promised me some amazing food and he and the staff delivered.

This spot reminded me of supper clubs of old, that  I haunted when I lived in New York, classy, sexy, daring, romantic,  live music, happy hour.  I can’t find this in Jacksonville all in one place.

Since I was solo, I elected to sit at the bar so I could chat with the staff, and it was a good choice.  Friendly staff, well versed in customer service,  keeping everyone happy.  I started with the Pomegranate Martini. A perfect choice, a spin on the Cosmo, but not as tart, icy and refreshing.

Once the food options were decided, I just sat back and waited for the goodness to begin.  This is the journey, and what a trip it was!!!

First up, Creamy Grits, with Andouille sausage, local shrimp, bacon cheese crisp. served in a cocktail glass

Bruschetta: fresh sliced baguette toasted with Parmesan cheese and olive oil, topped with pesto, marinated sundried tomatoes, fresh mozzarella cheese finished with balsamic reduction sauce

The entree was a delightful fish trio, served along side of Pomegranate creamy risotto, Portabella Asparagus . This plate was a perfect balance of sweet and tart.  I did add a heavy oaked Chardonnay to compliment the  dish

An the grand finally, Blueberry Mouse, in a Lemon cup, Tempura fried cheese cake, Chocolate, peppermint swirl.  The hollowed out half of lemon added a very unusual flavor to the Mouse, that I found quite enjoyable. Blueberry fat,sweet, exploded in the mouth.

One last treat for me before, I had to tap out.  A sinful, Starbucks Espresso Martini with Coffee beans…The perfect ending to a most stunning and flavorful meal.

So my thoughts, when it was  time to leave, all the tables were full, people were waiting to get in, bar was jamming and the music was just starting up. This locals love this place, I inquired at the hotel and they said Cellar 6 is one of the most popular spots in town.  So I love it and it appears the community loves it as well.  Gather you besties, get dressed up and go enjoy your life with good friends, food, music and  spirits.
