Jacksonville, FL 32224 As I sped by the huge bagel sign jumped out at me, and I swore it called my name. This displaced New York woman, has yet to find good bagels in this town, with one exception my chef friend makes killer bagels but not often enough. I have tried all the chain’s ordered bagels in sandwich shops and have been left longing for a “real” NY bagel; today was my day. Outside chalk board announce the morning and lunch offerings. One of the big plus factors for this place, they open at 6:30, just in time for a fly by on the way to work. I would much prefer a warm bagel with fresh made cream cheese than the other fast food breakfast offerings.
Pretty basic set up, a few tables, order at the counter, coffee station,
They’ve got 12 different varieties of cream cheese to choose, flavors ranging from garlic herb to vegetable and lox. They do offer the basic breakfast and a variety of hot and cold sandwiches for lunch as well, bagels are made in house every day as needed.
I was only there for the bagels. I ordered my classic salt bagel, plain cream cheese, lox, onions, capers and tomato. It proved to be the best bagel I have sampled in Jacksonville.
The bagel was warm with an ample amount of salt, lox were tasty, tender and firm at the same time. This was a perfect choice for me. I purchased several bagels to go as well as a small container of veggie cream cheese.
If you are a bagel lover, or just looking to change-up your routine, this spot is well worth trying. I know for sure I will return, if not to eat in, then to bring home an assortment of bagel flavors.
