Chicken Salad Chick

When my friend and fellow blogger Jill Cruz  invited me out to lunch one Saturday I was all in. She had been invited to Chicken Salad Chicks newest location for lunch.  I was more curious than anything, a restaurant that is focused on chicken salad seemed limiting to me.  So off we went.  The interior was bright and appealing, soft rose hues, through out, and photos of Jacksonville adorn the walls. Seating is comfortable, and will easily accommodate six or seven at some  tables.
This is an order at the counter operation, with menus available at the door or the large menu board is well positioned at the ordering counter.  There are about twelve different types of chicken salad to choose from, as well as deli sandwiches such as turkey, ham, roast beef or pimento.  Soups and salads round out the menu and a rotating cookie of the day selection that may be decisive on what day you want to eat here; Thursday would be my day, it’s the white chocolate macadamia cookie day.
We selected two “Chick Combo” plates; your pick of any three chicken salads or side items served on a bed of lettuce, accompanied by a pickle spear & wheat crackers.  We opted for  the Classic Carol, the original chicken salad, Nutty Nana,  with pecans and cashews,  Sassy Scotty, blend of ranch, bacon and cheddar cheese,  Jalapeno Holly, diced jalapenos,  Kickin’Kay Lynne, a combination of buffalo sauce, ranch, bacon, shredded cheddar cheese & jalapenos all in one and Jazzy Julie, spicy mixture of cayenne pepper, bacon & shredded cheddar cheese.  We also opted for a side of pasta salad, tri color rotini pasta in an Italian based dressing with feta and parmesan cheeses, black olives and artichoke hearts.  They served us generous packets of crackers and several pickles.
Each salad had its own unique texture based on the ingredients and binder used.  Some were quite creamy and moist, others not as much but still tasty.  My least favorite the pimento, I am just not a fan, and the so called “spicy” with the buffalo sauce or jalapeno were mild at best.My thoughts, nice but I was not knocked out by anything I ate, would I return probably not, but as always I encourage my readers to give it your own seal of approval or not.  Thank you Jill.
