I seldom go into town unless it’s some special occasion, but a recent meeting found me heading that way, and my first thought was let’s go to Olio. I have been here before and really enjoy what they do. A popular breakfast and lunch spot for the many office workers, it fills up quickly. Eat in, take out or order online for pickup makes this an office workers dream, and the food is always good. Order at the counter, grab your drink and take a seat when the food is ready one of the friendly staff members will call your name.
The breakfast menu offers, sandwiches, full breakfast, bowls and sides, the lunch menu is quite robust offerings, soups, salads, sandwiches and full entrees and there is always a daily special board, allowing for many interesting options.
I have locked into my favorite sandwich the Duck Grilled Cheese; duck confit, green tomato, gruyere and white American cheese on thick cut sourdough. This sandwich is so delicious in flavor the duck always rich and tender, cheese, melted rich and gooey, thick sliced tomatoes rounds out the flavors.
My friend ordered one of the daily special sandwiches, BBQ chicken, onions, gruyere on warm ciabatta. This sandwich was stuffed with zesty pieces of white and dark meat, sweet cheese, and sautéed tasty red onion.
I have to give this spot high marks, the staff works at pleasing each customer, interior inviting, with enough seating for small as well as large groups. Hours 8 to 3 Monday thru Friday they reopen on Frieda evenings from 5 to 10. Artwalk nights open at 5 to 10, may be a perfect time to give them a try.
